Now the serpent was more cunning than any animal of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God really said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"
Wouldn't it have been really nice if in creation God had attached a "beep-beep" alarm system to Satan just to let us know when he was about to try and trip us up.
Satan is the champion of deception. He can make himself look so good, so charming and appealing; that you might think not only is he harmless but he can convince you he has your best interest at heart. As a matter of fact, we are told by God that Satan can disguise himself as an "angel of light", which means he can look and sound like a good preacher or teacher. But make no mistake, he is not interested in bringing you closer to Christ but rather in causing you to drift away and bring doubt and confusion into your heart and mind.
God is doing some great things in His church right now and Satan has and will continue to try and counter what God is doing. Where there is love, Satan wants hatred and resentment. Where there is unity Satan desires division. Where there is true worship, Satan places real distractions. Where God speaks peace, Satan speaks confusion. SO BE ON GUARD CHURCH. You adversary is as a roaring lion seeking whom he can devour! So let us equip ourselves and STAND.
Eph. 6:10-11 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the -schemes of the devil.
Romans 8:37 In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
